Suggestions For Good Slides/Prints/Digital Images
Slides, 8x10 colour prints or digital images will now be accepted in our competition. Professional quality images gives your entry the best chance to be included in this competition. The selection committee will be best able to judge the excellence of the entry from professional quality slides, prints or digital images.
Be sure entire article is in the photograph, including edges technique must be visible on detail (close up) for example hooking stitches, quilt stitches etc. must be clearly seen. Detail view is best done with MACRO or close up lens. Best method for good colour is to take your photographs outdoors in daylight, on a calm, overcast but bright day. Use daylight film or setting. Take a light meter reading and bracket pictures. Protect slides/prints/CD Rom by enclosing in bubble wrap and cardboard for mailing. Consult a good book on photography.
A well written artists statement and relation to the theme is also important in selection of the final entries.
